I been with AVON business now for a about a good 10 months. I haven't been making any progress with the business. I tried word of mouth, sending out bulletin posts to my friends on myspace, I hand out the catalogs to all my neighbors and also other homes further from my block.... nobody seems to respond back to the catalogs i send out to their homes. I put it on their doors or mailboxs. I hand some catalogs out to stores and leave it for display. For some reason i am not getting any response?! i need advice or some kind of tips anyone can give me for my AVON business. THANKS!!!!!

Hi there, Many moons ago, I used to be in Avon and I can tell you how I got my customers. I started in the local newspaper and yellow pages. Look up real estate agencies, banks, Dr's offices, etc. etc. Call them up and say you are an Avon lady in the area and you would like to know if you could drop off some books. More chances then not, they say sure. Then, you ask how many and set a time to go over there and drop them off. The books are not for the waiting room, it's for the busy women and men who work in those offices. You will save them time and gas by providing them this service. You can even write up something a long the lines of when you will call to take orders, and that you can either pick the orders up or you can do it via email. Worked beautifullly for me. Sometimes you have to think "out of the box" a bit. Good luck!

I made fairly good sales at business' also just remember if they are busy go back later. Its a good deal one stop and you have 2,3,4 or more customers and they like to have a catalog to look at on lunch and breaks!!

Also the power of three besides going to buisnesses..when I was involved I did pretty good with that.Just remain consistent with what you are doing and it will pay off. Also if there are other rep's in your immediate area..try to get creative and do something that makes you and your business stand out.Have you ever had an open house?I never did one but its a thought if you havent had one already.

Yeah its crazy but its hard for me when there is competition out there! I live in Roseville, CA and in my area EVERYWHERE I HAPPEN TO BUMP INTO A AVON SALES REP or neighbors already having one in their family who they order from! I cant really do open house because most of my friends live in the bay area where i originally came from, but here i dont really know nobody and also don't really have funds for food or supplies from Avon if i needed to show the products... i kind of hate doing it that way too.. but i like the idea for going to real estate and the doctor's to give them the catalogs. It sucks though because i already gave some away in my dentist to the receptionist and their employees and they just browsed through it and never called me back for orders! Its getting very frustrating these days! *sigh* i would like my business to get better.. what other creative ideas any one has to offer to help me out??? suggestions? thoughts? perspectives?!!

When they don't call you.... YOU CALL THEM!! That IS part of the reason why I got the orders. If these offices are willing to let you drop off books, then make sure you have something typed up with maybe some cute graphics on it telling them how it works! You leave them a catalog, you call in a bout a week to find out if anyone has an order and if they don't tell them you can come by and get orders the following week and then call back when it comes in and let them know how much for each person. Works great!! BTW, I live at Edwards AFB near Lancaster and Palmdale.

I just got back into my AVON... was in need to pay them back after 2 months so i couldn't do any business.. But now i got reinstated & alot of catalogs from my district mgr.... i am still skeptical. I want to make flyers or something or have a catchy note.. although i am not so experienced with getting eye attention, was wondering if anyone can help me out with this situation with giving me ideas like example of how a flyer or little note on catalog for them to get or if i can cut and paste someone's idea and replace with my info that would also help and be great?! let me know?!!
